What has happened the past week? Well,
We received final plans from architect - architect called and said plans were ready and we should pick up (half-hour from our house), we called and said No, please fedex. Eventually, got plans and had builder pick these up.
Builder dropped off plans with town.
We got a call from the town, saying there were more forms we needed to complete - a permit for the storage trailer, and another building permit. Diane picked up the forms, but we called builder and asked him to come get forms and complete - this seems like something he should have done.
At this point, all forms and plans (the we know of) are filed with town; builder said expect to move out in 4 weeks - they may start in 2 weeks.
And, we have not yet found a place to live - over weekend, we looked at a 2-family house for rent in Red Bank -not terrible, but small and on a busy street, with 3 20-somethings living upstairs. I also called a few suites hotels in the area - but best price for a 3 month stay was $99 a night - pretty hefty.
CONCERNS:
Builder mentioned that we should be out for 6 months - this is NOT what we had agreed to originally, where our understanding was project would be 6 months and we would need to be out for 4. We need to clear this up, since we have not budget for those months.
Are we going to start - we are weeks behind from what we expected at this point.
Is builder too busy? Looks like he has picked up at least 3 other projects in our town.
